In Greene County district court Savannah Danielle Baugh, 19, of Jefferson pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- first offense. A trial date was set for Oct. 31.
Cases were initiated during the week ending Sept. 21 as follows: Paul Marvin Askvig, 49, of Apple Valley, MN, operating while intoxicated- first offense; Christopher Hollis Christian, 37, of Ames, driving while license barred; Damon Tyson Bennewitz, 19, of Des Moines, OWI- first offense; Zachery Allen Waters, 21, of Paton, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, domestic abuse assault impeding blood/air flow, assault on person in certain occupation, and harassment- first degree; Matthew Lee Hurley, 36, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; and Craigg Michael Smith, 40, of Jefferson, distributing marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.
